Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone understands very well the threat that the Golden State Warriors pose with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole leading the offense. Add to that Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins and the Dubs look more dangerous than ever.

Speaking to reporters ahead Game 1 of their first round playoffs series, Malone highlighted how lethal the Splash trio is. He used the Portland Trail Blazers team headed by Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Norman Powell they faced in the past offseason, emphasizing that the Warriors' combo of Steph, Klay and Poole is on “steroids.”

“I go back to last year first round against Portland. Dame, CJ, Norman Powell. No disrespect to those guys, but this (Warriors trio) is on steroids,” the Nuggets tactician shared, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “I think we're going to see those three on the floor with Wiggins and Draymond a ton.”

It's easy to see where Michael Malone is coming from. As he mentioned as well, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole can easily drop 30 points, so imagine facing a team with three of such players.

Simply put, the biggest challenge for the Nuggets is how they can defend against such offense.

Of course Denver can exploit the Warriors' lack of big man depth with Nikola Jokic. But that is where Draymond Green comes in. An elite defender on all areas of the floor, the Warriors are not an easy team to handle even if you have an MVP candidate at your disposal.

It remains to be seen how Malone plans to stop the Warriors, but there is no doubt that it won't be an easy task from start to finish.
