Just last week, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was in a building surrounded by thousands of people. That was despite the threat of the coronavirus looming around. Now that the NBA season is suspended due to a player contracting the virus, Kerr seems to be regretting his earlier ignorance on the issue.

Kerr's stance certainly changed after the situation turned to its worst when the NBA suspended the season. News broke out on Wednesday that Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert became infected with the widely spreading coronavirus. Shortly after, his teammate Donovan Mitchell was also diagnosed with the illness.

Nonetheless, Kerr is aware of his voice and how he can affect change through these dark times. The three-time champion coach is urging people to avoid going to massive crowd gatherings to avoid the spread of the virus.

Just days before the suspension, the Warriors had already scheduled to host a game against the Brooklyn Nets. That game would have taken place without fans at the Chase Center. The league had also been gearing itself to play games in empty arenas.

Unfortunately, a player was infected, and now, the league finds itself in a standstill with a ton of uncertainty on how the season will unfold. The NBA will reportedly use this time to consider all possible resolutions on how to move forward with this pressing issue.

This worldwide pandemic has reminded everyone across the league that this is just basketball. Health is the NBA's No. 1 priority. Not just for its players, but also its fans.
