The Golden State Warriors brandish the most lethal set of offensive stars in the game today with the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant leading the way. Each of them is capable of carrying the team single-handedly, but that’s just now how Golden State basketball works.
The Warriors’ offense refuses to get lulled into the “take the ball and see what you can do” type of basketball, instead, opting to remain predicated on moving the ball around and finding the open man.
The Warriors are tops in the league with an average of 30.8 assists per game, and as a result, they are also No. 1 in the NBA in points per game with 118. Despite the regularity of Golden State hitting these averages, the Warriors sometimes still surprise themselves.
Against the Orlando Magic last Friday, the Warriors recorded 46 assists. Steve Kerr, Draymond Green, and Durant were all astounded by the remarkable feat of basketball unselfishness they just accomplished, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

“That's crazy,” Green said.
“That's amazing,” Durant said.“Loved our spirit, our energy, our enthusiasm out there tonight,” Kerr said. “I think guys were embarrassed by the last two games. These guys love to play. I've probably been talking too much about the grind of the season, all that. Instead of just reminding them: Go out and play. Enjoy it. There are no guarantees about tomorrow. On many levels. So just go out and play and enjoy tonight.”
Green and Curry led the team in that category in the Magic game with 10 dimes apiece. Durant had seven, while David West and Patrick McCaw made four assists each off the bench in the Warriors’ 133-112 win.
Golden State shot 62.5 percent from the field despite the Magic’s best efforts to contain their opponents’ offense.
The Warriors are looking unstoppable again, and while it’s still early in the season, they seem to be on their way to winning another title again this season. If so, they have their otherworldly teamwork to thank for the success.
