DeMarcus Cousins has looked sharp in his three outings since making his season-debut with the Golden State Warriors last Friday against the L.A. Clippers. The big man had fouled out in 15 minutes during his first game in blue and gold, shaking off the rust, yet still scored an encouraging 14 points in his debut, showing the arsenal of tools at his disposal.

Cousins' minutes would bump up the next few games, playing 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers and most-recently 24 against the Washington Wizards — an encouraging sign, according to head coach Steve Kerr.

“He just looks like he’s in better condition each game,” Kerr said, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “He never looked tired. Even when I took him out, he didn’t look tired. It’s been a really good progression for him.”

The 6-foot-11, 270-pound behemoth has been out for nearly a year, only a day away from the anniversary of his season-ending Achilles injury that saw him hit the market as a free agent without the attention he was bound to garner as a healthy big man.

Cousins doesn't quite have the same lift, but he's made crucial plays in his three games with the Warriors, blocking shots, getting on passing lanes and taking charges with no concern for re-injury.

“I felt good,” Cousins said. “I kind of got mad at Steve for pulling me tonight (in the fourth quarter), but it’s a program and we have to stick to it. It’s a matter of time, a matter of the games and a matter of the build up.”

The Warriors will follow said program, no matter the circumstance. But it won't be long before they're trotting Cousins for 30-plus minutes as the rest of the starters.
