The NBA Playoffs are just around the corner and the clock is ticking for the Golden State Warriors. They currently rank 10th in the Western Conference with a 23-25 record.
The Warriors are still in the mix for the playoffs. However, they just lost a crucial matchup against the Miami Heat. Decreasing their chances of making the playoffs again as teams like the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans inch closer in the standings. However, Steve Kerr offers a hopeful, and realistic view on Golden States' chances of playing in the postseason this year, per The Athletic.
“We're right in the thick of it, and 24 games is actually a lot when you’re talking about being within a game either in front or behind of teams that are within your group,” Kerr said. “There should be a sense of urgency because this is the stretch run, but there is time for us to get it going. But it’s just cheap talk if we don’t actually play like it. We can’t turn it over, and we can’t keep fouling jump-shooters.”

With that insight, it's not yet time to panic for Warriors fans. For this team to make it into the postseason, they just have to focus on one game at a time. Seeds seven though ten this year will be involved in the play-in games. As long as the Warriors can stay within the top 10, they'll have a shot at playing in the postseason.
The rest of their schedule is in their favor. According to The Athletic, the Warriors have, “nine of their last 13 games are at home. They still play the tanking Thunder three times, the Rockets twice, the Timberwolves again and retain three games against the Pelicans in the closing weeks, useful if they need to fight New Orleans out of the play-in bracket. So there is time and opportunity.”
With 24 games left, anything can happen for the Golden State Warriors. Catch their next game against the Toronto Raptors on Friday, April 2nd.
