The Golden State Warriors are well on their way to the playoffs, as they are currently seated at the top of the Western Conference standings. With 23 games left, head coach Steve Kerr is planning to do some load management, which will involve resting his veterans in second night of back-to-back games.

Kerr is planning to do that as early as this week.

The Warriors will be playing the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night. Their back-to-back against the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat will be on Thursday and Friday.

The Warriors' plan to rest their players is all about making sure they are 100 percent ready come playoff time. It also minimizes the risk of anyone from the team suffering any serious injuries.

As for Cousins, a much-needed rest is important for him because he still isn't used to playing a lot of games. He's looked tired as of late, and opposing teams have been exposing his fatigue by constantly attacking the paint, making him exert extra effort. It is worth noting that he just came back last month from a torn Achilles tendon that required him to sit out for almost an entire year.

Steph Curry is also one of the players who might benefit from Kerr's plan. Over the past two seasons, the former league MVP has been injured during the early goings of the playoffs, and while he's able to come back and contribute in a big way, the Dubs might not want to take any chances.

No matter what happens though, the Warriors will be ready for the postseason, where they will aim to win their third straight championship.
