Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says DeMarcus Cousins is “fine” and has no pain after playing in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Cousins played eight minutes in Game 1. It was his first game action since Game 2 of the Warriors' first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Boogie has recovered from a torn left quad and appears to be feeling good with Game 2 set to be played on Sunday.

In his eight minutes of action, Cousins scored three points, all from the free-throw line. The Warriors center was 0-of-2 from the field. Kerr told reporters before Game 1 he wasn't going to play Cousins a lot of minutes. However, we could see Cousins' workload increase in Game 2.

While Kerr would be unlikely to feel comfortable relying on Cousins if his team was fully healthy, the absence of Kevin Durant leaves the Warriors with little offensive firepower behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Some have suggested Golden State could compensate by giving Cousins more minutes, but there's an inevitable trade-off on the other end of the floor of which the Raptors would surely take advantage.
During the regular season, Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 48.0 percent from the floor, 27.4 percent beyond the arc, and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line. After missing so much time, it's clearly going to take Cousins some time to regain his rhythm on the floor.
The Warriors, who will be without Durant again in Game 2, are hoping Boogie can give them an offensive boost in Game 2.
