Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson will miss tonight's game against the Sixers after injuring his knee in a loss to the Magic on Thursday night.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated that Thompson did not start feeling the injury until yesterday afternoon, but that it was inflamed enough to make inactive for tonight's game and that he would likely have an MRI:

Coincidentally enough, the only other game Thompson has missed this year was also against the Sixers, as he did not dress for their contest in Oakland at the end of January.
The 28-year-old has been fairly durable throughout his career, playing in at least 73 games in every season since his second year in 2012-13.

After going through a pair of shooting slumps in the first couple months of the season, Thompson has rebounded nicely. Thompson made it to the All-Star game as a reserve and is averaging 22 points, nearly four rebounds and has matched his career high with 1.1 steals per game.
The Warriors hold the top spot in the Western Conference thanks to a surprising home loss from the Denver Nuggets against the Jazz. However, a team as talented as Golden State is always going to prioritize the health of their stars over playoff seeding.
Kerr's tonality made it seem like an MRI would likely be taken just as a precaution, but a possible revelation of any structural damage would be a huge setback to the Warriors at this juncture.
Golden State already struggled to win without Stephen Curry earlier this season, and potentially losing Thompson at the end of the regular season would call his playoff timeline into question.
