It's not often that the Golden State Warriors lay an egg. But it happened in a big way on Tuesday night against the Utah Jazz.

The Warriors lost 129-99 to the Jazz, possibly the worst loss of the season for the defending NBA champions. No one was happy after the game, most of all head coach Steve Kerr, who called the team's effort “pathetic,” per Chris Haynes of ESPN.

Before that comment though, he had much more to say.

“I saw one team get their ass kicked,” Kerr said. “That's what I saw… Our hearts weren't in it. At this level, if your heart is not in it, I don't care how much talent you have — you're gonna lose.”

The Warriors made only five 3-pointers in 25 attempts. They allowed the Jazz to shoot 58.2 percent and have three players score over 20 points. Klay Thompson scored 27 on the night, but was a minus-19 while on the floor. Draymond Green was a minus-23, a team worst.

It appears Kerr's assessment was right. The Warriors really did not play the way they usually do. The team has had nights in which they miss shots, but it's difficult to recall a game where the majority of their players were ineffective and where they played bad defense.

The good news for Warriors fans is it is just one of 82 games, and the Warriors have a habit of responding very well after losing games. The Warriors will be fine, and Kerr will be much happier.
