Liverpool supporters around the world celebrated Saturday when their club took home the coveted UEFA Champions League Cup. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was among them, even though he could only watch the second half of the match.
Kerr, however, also saw some similarities between Liverpool and his team, claiming that both teams had such a long time off between games. Fortunately for the Reds (and unfortunately for the Dubs), the results were different.
Steve Kerr said he got to catch the second half of the Champions League final Saturday – happy about Liverpool winning, but noted, "It reminded me of another team that had too much time off in a recent playoff game. The result was more positive for Liverpool."

Liverpool had to wait about three weeks before they played the biggest game of their season. The Warriors had to wait ten days, a long layover that could've played a minor role in their Game 1 defeat.

Golden State couldn't match the Raptors' intensity in Game 1, falling flat in key moments and eventually losing by a score of 118-109. However, the loss shouldn't be blamed on the Warriors inactivity. This is a team with plenty of Finals experience, and there is no excuse to be unprepared during the most important series of the year.
Now, the Warriors face a 1-0 hole going into Game 2. If they lose again, it would be the first time that the team is down 0-2 in the Finals during the their run.
The Warriors are hoping to take a page out of Liverpool's book and close the season by lifting a trophy. We'll see if they can get one step closer thi Sunday night when Game 2 tips off in Scotiabank Arena.
