Faithful fans of the Golden State Warriors don't need to worry. Head coach Steve Kerr isn't going anywhere. This is despite the fact that the three-time NBA champion coach himself admitted that the possibility of coaching his alma matter, Arizona, has indeed piqued his interest.

With Arizona recently parting ways with long-time head coach Sean Miller, several names have been linked as his successor for the Wildcats. Kerr's name was thrown into the mix as well, but as it turns out, he's more than happy with his current standing:

Kerr did not deny that he has considered returning to his former team, but he also made it clear that at this point, he has no intention of leaving the Warriors:

“I have thought about coaching my alma mater,” Kerr said (h/t Jeremy Cluff of az central). “But I have a great job right now coaching the Warriors. I’m not going anywhere, but I’m very interested in what happens. I have a lot of love for my alma mater and definitely want to thank Sean (Miller) for his 12 years of commitment to the school. He had some great years and did a lot of great things. I really am supportive of everything that the university is going to do going forward. If they need my help, I will offer my help.”

Arizona is in the midst of entering a new era for their basketball program after a rather controversial exit from Sean Miller. There have been a few candidates that have been rumored to be in the mix for the recently-vacated post, but for his part, Kerr has already taken himself out of the running.

Kerr and his Warriors are in action on Friday as they take on the Washington Wizards. Golden State is coming off a huge 122-121 win over the mighty Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday and they will hope to carry on with their winning ways against Bradley Beal and Co.
