Day by day, the COVID-19 vaccine is slowly being rolled out across the nation and Steve Kerr and the rest of the Golden State Warriors are certainly not skipping their turns. Amid statements from a few Warriors players not wanting to get vaccinated, the three-time NBA champion head coach mentioned that a few members of the team, from both the players and the coaching staff, have already received their single-dose vaccine, including himself.

“We went yesterday to Kaiser right around the corner from Chase [Center in San Francisco], and I believe about 12 of us got vaccinated, players and coaches,” Kerr said before their Thursday game against the Sacramento Kings (via NBC Sports) . “I was very happy to receive mine.”

It was earlier reported that players like Andrew Wiggins and Kent Bazemore were to skip the vaccination unless it was ‘forced' upon them as skepticism about the vaccine continues to take center stage.

Though it was confirmed through Kerr's statements that certain players officially got their shots, he did not mention if both Wiggins or Bazemore had a change of heart and got theirs. Still, 12 members from the Warriors getting their vaccine is certainly a huge step towards the so-called “new normal” as cases of the coronavirus pandemic continue to rise, more than a year in.

Aside from the Warriors, other teams around the league like the New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Los Angeles Lakers have also started their vaccination process. Hopefully, for everyone's sake, players and teams around the league also get in line.
