Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr couldn't help but gush at Klay Thompson's Michael Jordan declaration for him after they won the 2022 NBA Championship.
To recall after the Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, Thompson said that he'll never play for another coach again. The sharpshooter even went as far as to saying he's going “full Michael Jordan,” referencing the Chicago Bulls legend's declaration that he'd just retire if the franchise don't bring back Phil Jackson after the 1997-98 season–which he did.
Speaking on 95.7 The Game, Kerr showed his appreciation for Thompson and called it the “ultimate compliment.”
“It is the ultimate compliment. The feeling is mutual. I don’t wanna coach a different team, either. We have such a good thing going here. We have such strong bonds built over the last eight years for me, built over the past 10, 12 years for Steph (Curry), Klay, Draymond. We’ve got something special. It’s great to be a part of and we want to keep it going,” Kerr shared, per Audacy.

The Warriors have found so much success with Steve Kerr leading the way for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. With that said, it's not surprising why Klay and the rest of the team loved playing for the veteran head coach.
It's just like they are a match made in basketball heaven.
Fortunately for Thompson and Kerr, the Warriors don't seem to have any plan of breaking the team up until they retire. The Dubs have shown willingness to spend if it means they can continue competing, and so it's unlikely the team will part ways with the group that brought them to their true golden age.
