The Golden State Warriors are set to face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. Steve Kerr, who was once a Spur, will face his former head coach Gregg Popovich. Recently, Kerr expressed his immense desire in beating Pop.

As reported by Melissa Rohlin of the Bay Area News Group, Kerr said:

“Pop doesn't like to see me lose. I like to see him lose. He's had way too much success already and I think sometimes Pop needs to be humbled. I'm looking to really rub it in and enjoy… If we're able to beat them, it would bring great joy to see the anguish on his face.”

Obviously, Kerr was just his usual sarcastic self. It's his way of having fun while slightly throwing shade at his opponents. Pop, too, is known for such antics. But the difference is that Kerr lets out a smile whenever he does such things. Pop, on the other hand, lets out a stone face and putting a bit of fear in reporters.

The Warriors took all four games against the Spurs in the regular season by a pretty hefty margin. Though Kawhi Leonard did not play in all four, it should be noted, too, that Kawhi won't likely play in the postseason.

Steph Curry, who's out with an MCL sprain, will watch in the sidelines as well. So does this even out the playing field? Maybe, but not quite. The Warriors have tons of tools in their box. The Spurs are capable, yes. But the odds are stacked up against them.
