Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is set to break Pat Riley's record for the fastest coach to 300 wins in NBA history, and it could happen this week.
Pat Riley, who had a legendary coaching career with the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Miami Heat, reached 300 career wins in 416 games. It was a record many thought would never be broken.
However, Steve Kerr is about to shatter that record. Kerr enters Tuesday with a coaching record of 298-77 with Golden State. The Warriors take on the Washington Wizards on Thursday and the Boston Celtics on Saturday.

But Golden State's Steve Kerr will soon obliterate that record. Kerr is 298-77 lifetime after the Warriors' rout Monday night of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kerr became the Warriors' head coach back in 2014. He has won three championships and will probably win his fourth this season.
Golden State rewarded Kerr with a contract extension in July. While details of the extension were not announced, it is widely expected that Kerr is the highest paid coach in the NBA.
