The Golden State Warriors have been linked with Kevin Durant once again, but the question remains: are they willing to part ways with their young core to reunite with an aging KD?

While the Warriors are said to be hesitant about moving their young assets for Durant, one anonymous Eastern Conference GM said that he would be more than willing to pull the trigger if it were his decision. After all, for him, the Dubs' only chance to win an NBA title is with Stephen Curry on the roster.

Considering that Steph is also aging and their title window slowly closing, the said anonymous GM expressed belief that it just makes sense for Golden State to trade for Durant and increase their title chances.

“I would give up all those young guys. And who would you rather have, KD or Wiggins? The time is now. When Steph goes, so do their championship chances,” the GM furthered, per Rich Bucher of FOX Sports.

The Nets want a young rising star, a superstar-level player and a slew of draft picks in any Kevin Durant trade. That means the Warriors would have to part ways with the likes of James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and/or Andrew Wiggins, along with draft compensation, to make the deal happen.

However, that would also mean that the Warriors are sacrificing their future to win more titles now, which goes against owner Joe Lacob's vision of maintaining long-term success like the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

Based on recent reports, the Warriors' interest in Durant is legitimate. Now, it remains to be seen if that interest is enough to push them to make the deal.
