SAN FRANCISCO – Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green participated in his first practice of the new NBA season under head coach Steve Kerr. After checking in, Green decided to jump right in and get to work. He is one of the leaders of the team. Green's impact on practice was felt instantly, even though it wasn't expected on Thursday.

“He got his physical in with the training staff…He went through all of practice, even some live stuff. Not sure if he was supposed to, but he snuck in there anyway.”

Draymond Green has been very active this summer and looks like he's in good shape. Sitting out of practice wasn't an option, so nobody would've been able to hold him back if they tried.

The three-time champion has been away from the team for the first few days of camp. The team was aware of Green's situation, and he was granted an excused absence. Draymond Green explained to the media that he had some things to handle, and now everything was going well.

Now that the team has the entire crew together with Draymond Green in the fold, they can build some team chemistry and start game-planning for Monday's preseason game. The Warriors will face the Portland Trail Blazers. These games aren't about winning or losing. They are mainly games to decide who will remain with the team and what type of team they will be.

There is no certainty that Draymond Green will play on Monday because by then, he would have only practiced two days with the team. He's prepared for whatever Steve Kerr has planned for him and is looking forward to the challenges the 2021-22 NBA season brings. It's a long slog, as the Dubs have experienced many times in this era of triumph and tumult, and Draymond knows more than anyone else the value of pacing himself for the long haul.
