Golden State Warriors rookie Jordan Bell has surprised many so far this season, including the defending champions themselves. He has carved himself a role in the rotation and proven to be a valuable piece to the puzzle.
But on Tuesday night, the Warriors suffered a big blow. Bell went down with an ankle injury during the game against the Brooklyn Nets.
It appears that while going for a rebound, Bell clipped the foot of a Nets player, causing his right ankle to bend at an almost 90-degree angle. He immediately fell to the floor in pain, nearly taking Draymond Green with him, per Warriors Talk on Twitter.

In the immediate aftermath, things did not look good. Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post detailed it in a Twitter post.
Jordan Bell is in a lot of pain. He came down awkwardly on his right leg and went to the ground, pounding his fist on the court. Tries to get up, goes down, and eventually does get up and visibly limps directly back to the locker room.

As such, Bell has been listed out for the rest of the game.

Jordan Bell (right ankle sprain) will not return to tonight's game. He will get X-Rays.

That description does not sound good at all. And for a Warriors team that has somewhat struggled with motivation at times the season, the team cannot afford to have any key players out.
Bell may not be part of the core of the team, but the Warriors definitely need him in the fold and need him healthy. He's a big body that can give a lot of energy to the team off the bench. He can also find himself in positions for easy points.
Golden State has to be hoping that Bell's injury is not serious and that it won't keep him out long term. At the moment, things don't look promising for the young rookie.
But time will tell whether or not it was a significant injury.
