The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings at home Saturday night thanks to a game-winning putback layup from shooting guard Klay Thompson.

The Warriors were down 116-115 with just around 11 seconds left. Klay Thompson drove to the basket from the left wing and missed a tough layup in traffic. However, the All-Star guard got his own rebound and hit the putback layup with 5.8 seconds left in regulation.

Golden State ended up winning 117-116.

The Warriors have now won two games in a row after the reigning champs had lost four-straight for the first time in the Steve Kerr era. Klay Thompson finished with 31 points against the Kings in 29 minutes. He also added five rebounds. Golden State is now 14-7 on the season. Moreover, Thompson also made history on the night by climbing to the 21st spot in the NBA's all-time list for three-pointers made.

The Warriors are still playing without Stephen Curry, who is out with an adductor strain. The offense has really been struggling to operate at a high-level since Curry went out, but things have looked better in these last two games.

The game-winner by Klay Thompson is probably not how the shooting guard drew it up, but at the end of the day, the shot went in and the Warriors won. Golden State hosts the Orlando Magic on Monday before they embark on a five-game road trip.
