Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson doesn't mind the heckling from Toronto Raptors fans at all.

During an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols, Thompson spoke about the heckling he received from the Canadian fans in his hotel. The Warriors sharpshooter said they are nice even when they heckle.

“I'm excited. I know Canada always brings the energy especially for hockey but it's turned into a basketball city now,” Thompson said.

“I mean it was the nicest heckle ever. It was like a ‘Boo, I hope you have a terrible day.' It wasn't, no cuss words or nothing so I appreciate that. I appreciate the respect. Thank you, Canada.”

It's not every day you watch an athlete thank opposing fans for their “warm” reception. In this case, Thompson stresses how nice Canadians are in general — most of them couldn't utter a cuss word even if an opposing player is a few feet away.

Could this trend continue at Scotiabank Arena once the 2019 NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors kick off? Bear in mind Toronto is on the cusp of winning its first NBA title. Should they pull it off, they will become the first Canadian team to win an NBA championship.

Those should stoke the flames of Raptors fans. Some sports fanatics just couldn't control their emotions — let alone their mouths — in the heat of the moment. Besides, they are up against the Warriors, who are heavily favored to win it all.
