The hits keep on coming for the Charlotte Hornets’ banged-up backcourt. Already missing starting shooting guard Nicolas Batum and point guard Michael Carter-Williams, the team announced via their official website that backup point guard Julyan Stone will now miss 4-6 weeks with a left hamstring strain.
Julyan Stone, who had also dealt with a groin problem during the offseason, suffered the injury on Sunday, Oct. 22 during practice. He had scored six points, with five rebounds and two assists in 18 total minutes of action through two games this season.

There remains no timetable for the return of Carter-Williams, who was expected to be the team's main backup point guard, after he underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy on both his knees during the offseason.
With Stone's absence, the Hornets have called up two-way player Marcus Paige from the G-League to bolster their point guard depth. He and rookie Malik Monk will likely see minutes behind Kemba Walker as the Hornets look to survive their current injury crisis.
Monk has had a rough start to his professional career, though. He’s scored just nine points through two games on 19 percent shooting. He’s also registered just one assist in 40 minutes on the court.
