Through his first 22 games in the NBA, New York Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina has been able to showcase his talents on the floor, and even glimpses of his true potential. From his ability to score in different ways to setting up his teammates on offense, he has given their fans a lot to look forward to in regards to their future.
However, he has also struggled when it comes to consistency. At times he still looks lost in the team's system, and appears not to have a deep understanding of when he needs to pass the ball, or be aggressive in shotmaking, which head coach Jeff Hornacek said recently, via Howie Kussoy of the New York Post.

Then we’ve tried to talk to him about being a little more aggressive, and trying to really move the ball downhill on these guys, and then I think he was maybe thinking shoot it and score,” Hornacek said. “I thought last game, the practice before that, he’s done a nice job of balancing that. Sometimes he’ll attack. Sometimes he’s looking to pass. As a young person in this league you’re trying to figure that out, ‘When are my opportunities to really attack? When is it just to make a pass?’
“I think he’s learning every day and he’ll just continue to grow that way.”
Although his scoring still leaves a lot to be desired, the 19-year-old French international makes up for it in other statistics, with solid averages of 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 19.4 minutes. More importantly, he has also established good relationships with his veteran teammates, who have nothing but good words to say about him.
If he continues his development as planned, there will be no doubt that Ntilikina will be the Knicks' point guard of the future. The good news is he is still young, and is a fast learner, which will help him become the best player that he can be, and together with Kristaps Porzingis, could bring a lot of success to the franchise in the years to come.
