Without All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard, the Los Angeles Clippers used a balanced effort to beat the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night, 131-124. A total of seven players scored in double-figures for the Clippers, with Marcus Morris dropping 33 points and Paul George adding 32 points.

But while George didn’t end up as the team’s leading scorer, the seven-time All-Star still added nine assists, three rebounds, and one monster dunk on Pistons rookie Isaiah Stewart. After the game, the 30-year-old spoke about his posterizing dunk on Stewart, per Kurt Helin of NBCSports.com.

Before throwing it down over Stewart, George crossed over Pistons guard Wayne Ellington, which cleared the path to the basket. As he said, Stewart had a good position under the basket to potentially block his shot. But George, who shot the ball 25 times and had 12 made baskets on the night, stayed aggressive and didn’t settle for a foul call and drove all the way for a vicious slam over the 19-year-old.

George, who participated in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest back in 2012 and 2014, also said that he wasn’t getting a lot of calls against the Pistons, as he shot just four free throws, which is why he knew he had to dunk it. For Stewart, who finished with seven points, six rebounds, and two assists off the bench for Detroit, it may serve as a “Welcome to the NBA” moment that he may never forget.

For George, it sums up the aggressiveness that he has displayed throughout the season, that he wasn’t leaving anything up to chance and hope that a whistle is blown. Instead, he took it all the way to the basket, resulting in one of the best dunks of the season.
