When news first broke that the Los Angeles Clippers were getting both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the team instantly emerged as the favorites to win the championship in the upcoming season. Now that the dust has settled and we are able to get a clearer perspective of what went down in a crazy offseason, it seems that the Clippers still remain to be the odds-on frontrunners to go all the way this year.

Tim Bontemps of ESPN recently spoke to a number of NBA executives and asked each of them which team they think had the best chance of winning the title. The Clippers were the runaway victors in the survey, as they amassed 13 out of the 20 votes.

“I'm going to say the Clippers right now,” an Eastern Conference scout said. “Certainly I'd understand why someone would say the Lakers, but I don't trust the Lakers to get anything right.”

Another anonymous executive added that the Clippers do not only have one of, if not the best duo in the NBA right now, but they also possess a noteworthy supporting cast — one that might just be able to push them over the edge.

“If you can get to the end of the season with those two guys [Leonard and Paul George] on the court, with the guards they have and some solid vets coming off the bench, they do it,” an Eastern Conference executive said.

We so no lies here, and it does seem that the Clippers have successfully equipped themselves with the tools they need to win it all. Then again, if there's one thing we've learned in the past, nothing is certain in the NBA.
