The Los Angeles Clippers convincingly won Game 4 of their second-round matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, 96-85. In the process, LA has moved one step closer to putting an end to an unwanted record.
Should the Clippers defeat the Nuggets in this series, they will be advancing to the Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. It is worth noting that it is literally the worst drought in US sports:

This just goes to show how the Clippers have failed to find success in the NBA ever since they were founded in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves. It is clear, however, that the team has been trending up over the past few years, and their unbridled success in the previous offseason has led them to where they are now.
By bringing in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George into the fold last summer, LA quickly became favorites to challenge for the title this 2019-20. So far, they have been able to live up to the hype.
Leonard was excellent yet again in Game 4, finishing with a game-high 30 points on 10-of-22 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, two blocks and just a single turnover in 39 minutes of action. Dominant would be a good word to describe his performance on Wednesday.
The reigning Finals MVP and the rest of the Clippers are now on the brink of advancing to the next round. They have a close-out opportunity on Friday in Game 5.
However, for their part, the Nuggets certainly won't go down without a good fight.
