Los Angeles Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley has Lou Williams' back. Williams took to Twitter on Saturday night to essentially endorse himself for NBA Sixth Man of the Year candidacy before Beverley joined the fray and gave his ringing endorsement:
It’s not even a discussion!!!! Give that man what he deserves!!!! #6Man https://t.co/fID1I4n5NY

Williams certainly has a case to be made, coming on the heels of a 40-point outing during Friday's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Williams has dropped 20.2 points per game off the bench this season, on pace to set a new career high with 5.4 assists per contest, as well.
Winning the Sixth Man of the Year Award isn't new to Williams (one would imagine that's how you get the song titled, ‘6 Man' by Drake, named and modeled after you), who has claimed the trophy twice before; once with the Toronto Raptors in 2015 and the other last season, his first with the Clippers.
Although he logged a career-best 32.8 minutes per game last season for LA, his 2018-19 campaign mirrors his 2014-15 year more in the sense that he is yet to start a single contest. He is the team's current leading scorer (with Tobias Harris dealt to Philadelphia) and assist man, but just doesn't get introduced during warm-ups, nor is he on the floor for the initial jump ball.
Williams will have stiff competition for the honors this season, battling teammate Montrezl Harrell, Indiana's Domantas Sabonis, Minnesota's Derrick Rose and Oklahoma City's Dennis Schroder. But ask Williams — or his teammates — and they'll likely dance along with him to the song that endorses their leading scorer as the league's leading sixth man.
