Much has been made of the troublesome time Paul George had in the bubble last season with the Los Angeles Clippers. With this year's playoffs just around the corner, it looks like we could be in store for a much improved “Playoff P” this time around.
According to George himself, he's in a completely different place right now — both physically and mentally:
Article Continues Below“Well I think this year it's been easier because I have outlets,” George said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “You know, I'm able to live a normal life. I can go home, I can see my family, I can spend time with my family, I can interact with other people outside of this team. And so that alone has just been a big difference to be back to some normalcy.
“It's a big difference from the bubble life to where I'm at now from a headspace standpoint.”
That's absolutely great news for Clippers fans. We all know that Paul George is one of the most explosive scorers in the NBA today, which is why his forgettable playoff run last season came as a bit of a surprise. It seems like it's all in his head, but now that he's in a much better place mentally, he could be the key to LA's title run this season.
It's too early to tell at this point, but it does sound like things are finally looking up for the Clippers as they head into what could be a make-or-break postseason run.
