Paul George says the Los Angeles Clippers' success in 2018-19 and how hard they play “was the biggest attraction” for him.
The Clippers won 48 games last season without having an All-Star on the roster. LAC took the Golden State Warriors to six games in the first round of the 2019 playoffs.
With George and Kawhi Leonard on the roster now, the Clippers are title contenders for the first time in franchise history.
“That was the biggest attraction, with just how hard they play and Coach Doc (Rivers) honestly getting everything out of his players,” George said. “That’s such a special gift, when a coach can grab and you can see their connection on the court. Everybody was on the same page, everybody was pulling for one another and everybody elevated their games.
“To be a part of that camaraderie and to be a part of what they already had, then sprinkle in what we have to offer, that’s what made it such an attractive spot for me to be in.”
Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are two of the best two-way wings in the entire NBA. PG and Kawhi are joining a Clippers team with Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell, Landry Shamet, JaMychal Green and Maurice Harkless on it.
Doc Rivers is one of the best coaches in the league. Expect him to take Kawhi and George's game to the next level, a sight no one in the league wants to see.
