The Los Angeles Lakers held an official press conference introducing superstar Anthony Davis as a member of the team on Saturday after a long and arduous journey in order to get AD on the team.
During his introductory presser, Davis covered a wide variety of topics, but one of the ones that he clearly intonated was the following, which was shared by the Lakers’ Twitter account.
"My goal is to bring a championship here with the team that we have." – @AntDavis23https://t.co/ggEbcLQmpt

Certainly, with LeBron James seemingly cresting the wave of his late peak, the 26-year-old Davis joined the Lakers to both increase his marketability in a big market while also improving his on-court prospects. On a team with two mammoth, All-NBA-level talents, it is likely “championship or bust” for the Lake Show.

In order to acquire Davis via trade, the Lakers had to pretty much trade everything not nailed down, including the following young prospects: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Mo Wagner, and Isaac Bonga as well as the No. 4 overall pick and a treasure trove of future draft picks.
Despite the team losing any and all semblance of a post-LeBron/AD future, L.A. and its general manager Rob Pelinka were certainly active in free agency, adding a glut of players on the market to the team for next season.
The only players returning from last year’s Lakers squad are James, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Alex Caruso. The team added a variety of veterans such as Danny Green, Avery Bradley, Jared Dudley, Troy Daniels and more.
