An unlucky bounce was all it took to upend the Los Angeles Lakers' comeback bid on Thursday night against their rival Clippers. Anthony Davis had his clean look to take the win roll around and out as the buzzer sounded.

The Lakers star sounded off on the shot after the game, letting out his frustration in the process.
“I mean, the ball touched every part of the rim,” said the AD after the Lakers loss. “You can't ask for a better look. … Tough play, tough miss. Frustration just from the miss and losing this one.”
The purple and gold battled back from a double-digit deficit to take the lead right at the very end thanks to a tremendous alley-oop connection between Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis. But the Lakers comeback fell just short.
“But guys fought hard,” AD continued. Battled down 17, come back and fight. Made some big plays on both ends of the floor. Just couldn't seal it off.”
Of course at this point in the season, near-wins and moral victories sting just a bit more than they did towards the early portion of the year.
The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of a tough battle for playoff positioning in the Western Conference. A loss like this could come back to haunt them later in the year, especially if a Clippers tiebreaker comes into play.
“I actually paused it,” AD said of the replay on his last-second. “I was talking to Melo and said, ‘Basketball gods can't do that to me, man.' The ball was in. The ball is in and just rolls out.”
The Lakers need all the help they can get from the basketball gods for the second half of the season. Hopefully the misfortunes of today are to compensate for successes yet to come.
