Los Angeles Lakers big man JaVale McGee has been ill for quite some time, but the good news is that he appears to be getting better. McGee has been upgraded to questionable for his team's game against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

McGee was recently in the hospital for three days with pneumonia and has not played since the Lakers' win over the Charlotte Hornets back on Dec. 15. McGee was sick in that game, too, but managed to finish with 19 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes.

On the year, the 30-year-old is averaging 11.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocks over 23.5 minutes per game while shooting 62.6 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

McGee, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Nevada, was originally selected by the Washington Wizards in the first round (18th pick overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft.

He played in 75 contests during his rookie campaign, registering 6.5 points and 3.9 boards across 15.2 minutes a night.

The Flint, Mi. native spent the first three and a half years of his career with the Wizards before being dealt to the Denver Nuggets midway through the 2011-12 season.

McGee spent parts of four seasons with the Nuggets, with injuries and poor performance overall littering his time in the Mile High City.

He then had cups of coffee with the Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks before landing with the Golden State Warriors in 2016-17, where he went on to win back-to-back titles as a productive member of the rotation.

JaVale McGee signed with the Lakers this past summer.
