The Los Angeles Lakers enter the second half of the season looking healthy and ready to make a run. Before Wednesday's tipoff against the Charlotte Hornets, Lakers head coach J.J. Redick revealed his plan for the rotation. It is one that should inspire confidence among Lakers fans.
Los Angeles will go with a full, 10-man rotation on Wednesday, according to Lakers Nation Managing Editor Daniel Starkand.
The starting lineup will consist of LeBron James and Rui Hachimura at forward, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves as the guards, and Jaxson Hayes at center. Hayes suffered a facial injury just before the All-Star break. So, this is great news.
They will bring a combination of Dorian Finney-Smith, Jarred Vanderbilt, Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent, and newly acquired Alex Len off of the bench.
Will Luka Doncic Finally Erupt?
Article Continues BelowEver since the Lakers acquired Doncic in the blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis, fans have been frothing at the mouth. They want to see what this offense can look like fully gelling.
Thus far, the Slovenian superstar has played two games in a Lakers uniform, both against the Utah Jazz. He played sparingly and notched 14 and 16 points, respectively. But Doncic was coming off of a calf injury that kept him out for much of the early part of the season.
During Wednesday's shoot-around, Lakers head coach J.J. Redick stated that following the game against the Hornets, he does not expect the MVP-caliber talent to be on a minutes restriction. That means, however, that he very likely will not play the amount of minutes he is accustomed to playing on Wednesday.
So, Lakers fans will probably have to wait at least one more game to get a real glimpse of the new offense for an entire game.
