OKLAHOMA CITY — After the Los Angeles Lakers forward Maxi Kleber responded to Nico Harrison's firing by the hands of his former team — the Dallas Mavericks — a reporter asked Luka Doncic for a comment on the matter. Harrison, the former Mavs GM who shipped Doncic, Kleber, and Markieff Morris for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick, was relieved of his duties on Tuesday.
After the Lakers' 121-92 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Doncic addressed his former Mavericks fanbase during his postgame media availability, per Lakers reporter Khobi Price.
“The city of Dallas, the fans, the players; they'll always have a special place in my heart,” Doncic said. “I thought I was going to stay there forever, but I didn't. It'll always have a special place in my heart. I'll always call it home. But right now, I'm focused on the Lakers and trying to move on. But, obviously, a part of me is always going to be there — just trying to move on. Focus on what we're doing.”
Then, the reporter asked Doncic a follow-up question regarding a potential return to the Mavericks at some point during his NBA career.
“Right now, I'm just focused on the Lakers, man,” Doncic replied. “No further comments.”
Doncic finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in Wednesday's 19-point blowout loss to the defending champion Thunder, which improved its NBA-leading record to 12-1.
What Lakers' Maxi Kleber said about Nico Harrison's firing

Before Thunder fans enjoyed watching Luka Doncic struggle to lead his Lakers in front of a double-digit deficit throughout Wednesday's loss, Lakers forward Maxi Kleber talked about the firing of his former Mavericks GM. Kleber paused before delivering his response.
“It’s a fast business, man. [For] GMs, players, coaches; everybody,” Kleber said. “So, you always gotta be ready for the next move.”
