The Dallas Mavericks are almost three months removed from trading franchise superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Since that time, there's been no shortage of folks attempting to take jabs at General Manager Nico Harrison. This time, Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta joined the fun.

The owner of the Rockets was at an event celebrating the Houston Cougars Men's College Basketball and their run to the National Championship Game. But things very randomly shifted to Luka Doncic and his trade to the Lakers.

Tilman Fertitta takes shot at Mavs over Luka Doncic trade

The Mavs were eliminated from NBA postseason contention during last week's Play-In Tournament at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. It brought an end to what's been a tumultuous and rocky season in Dallas, with many fans furious at Nico Harrison.

One of the comments made during this week's end-of-season press conference by Nico Harrison took everyone by complete surprise.

“I did know that Luka was important to the fanbase but I didn't quite know it to what level,” Harrison said of trading Doncic to the Lakers. “But really, the way we looked at is if we're putting a team on the floor that's Kyrie [Irving], Klay [Thompson], PJ [Washington], Anthony Davis, and [Dereck] Lively, we feel that's a championship caliber team and we would've been winning at a high level and that would've quieted some of the outrage. Unfortunately we weren't able to do that, so it just continued to go on and on.”

During the celebration of the Houston Cougars Basketball Team, Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta spoke about his recent visit to the White House.

“I was in the White House in the Oval Office with the Prime Minister of Italy and the President last Thursday, and we talked about the houston cougars, I can promise you ,for at least a minute and a half.”

He could've ended it there, but he had another thought on his mind.

“And then we talked about that Luka Doncic trade [to the Lakers] that Dallas did.”

Quite funny because if you listen closely, you can hear Fertitta call Luka Doncic, “Luke Doncha.”

The entire league remains flummoxed at how the Dallas Mavericks send Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and didn't even land Austin Reaves in the deal.

Tilman Fertitta, however, should probably be more locked in on his Rockets and their first round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors than the Mavericks and Lakers. Game 2 of that series is Wednesday night, with Houston in danger of falling down 0-2 with both games at home so far.
