Russell Westbrook has been one of, if not the most highly-criticized member of the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Simply put, for many, the former league MVP has served as the scapegoat for LA's struggles.

Russ has been hearing the noise loud and clear and apparently, he has come to a rather shocking decision to go on a social media hiatus for the time being. His wife, Nina Westbrook, revealed the Lakers guard's recent decision on an Instagram post:

“My boo. He won’t see this because he’s on hiatus from socials, but he’s amazing,” Nina's caption read.

Nina no longer revealed the reason behind her husband's decision to go off the grid as well as how for long Westbrook intends to remain incognito. However, one doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to put two and two together here. Russ has been absolutely destroyed on social media throughout the course of the season and he's probably had enough.

It's a good thing Westbrook is no longer on Twitter or Instagram right now considering how the Lakers were embarrassed by the New Orleans Pelicans in Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night. Russ had another forgettable performance after going just 5-of-15 shooting for 16 points along with seven turnovers. LA lost 123-95.
