Wear last played professionally for RETAbet.es GBC in Spain after his lone season with the New York Knicks, He owns career NBA averages of 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13.2 minutes after appearing in 51 games.
The Lakers are looking to add frontcourt depth to their roster and have invited other big men to their training camp. Earlier today, former Notre Dame forward/center Zach Auguste reportedly signed a similar contract and will attempt to crack the roster.
Should Wear make the team's final lineup for the upcoming season, he would be expected to play a small role off the bench, relieving the likes of Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr., and even Timofey Mozgov, should he get some minutes at center.
