Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has confirmed that the filming of Space Jam 2 will begin this summer, and Denver Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas is already looking for a role:

Thomas is obviously joking, but let's be real: seeing him cast as the successor to Muggsy Bogues in this movie would be pretty appropriate.

The 30-year-old just played in his first game since last March on Feb. 13, scoring eight points in 13 points during a 120-118 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Thomas had been sidelined since last season while recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right hip.

He split the 2017-18 campaign between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, playing in 32 games overall and averaging 15.2 points, 4.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds over 26.9 minutes per game while shooting 37.3 percent from the floor, 29.3 percent from three-point range and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Thomas began last season with the Cavaliers but was traded to the Lakers before the trade deadline.

He originally arrived in Cleveland after coming over in a trade that sent Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, ending what was the most successful run of Thomas' career.

Just two years ago, Thomas registered 28.9 points, 5.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds across 33.8 minutes a night while making 46.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, 37.9 percent of his long-distance tries and 90.9 percent of his free throws in leading Boston to 53 wins and the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, two games into the Celtics' Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Cavaliers, Thomas was shut down due to hip problems that had been plaguing him for a couple of months at the time. The Nuggets are likely happy to have him.
