The nightmare continued for Dallas Mavericks fans on Monday night as Kyrie Irving tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. First, the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, and Anthony Davis was one of the players who came to Dallas in the trade. He got injured during his first game with the Mavericks. Now, Irving is out for the year, but he seems to be in good spirits.

Getting down after an injury like this would be easy, but Kyrie Irving seems to be taking it well. He went on Instagram live to address the injury, and he is trying his best to focus on the positives.

“It's painful to deal with this at this point, but at the same time, how I've been built, not only by my bloodline, but just how I've been building myself over the last few years,” Irving said. “Dealing with pain and suffering is just as important as dealing with all the positivity and things that go on and the happiness that you want. You know, accepting what comes with all of this is the next aspect for me.”

Irving has received a lot of messages from his fans, and he wanted to make sure to thank every one of them.

“So I just wanted to take this time out. I don't want to get long-winded on here,” he continued. “I just want to take the time out to thank each and every one of you that tweeted me or sent something on Instagram or sent something on any of the social media channels, if you texted me, I just wanted to say thank you so much, you know, and it doesn't go unnoticed. It hasn't been 48 hours since I tore my ACL, but you know, the recovery process already started, mentally, spiritually, emotionally.”

Irving is fortunate to have a great support system, and that is going to help him get through this unfortunate bump in the road.

“So just wanted to let you guys know I'm okay and I will be okay moving forward,” Irving added. “It does suck a lot. I ain't gonna lie to you guys. This one stings, for sure. But I have a great support system around me of incredible family members and friends, and I know I'm supported not just here in America, but internationally.”

Finally, Irving made sure to include that he is going to be back.

“I will be back… Don’t ever let anybody tell you to give up,” he said.

This has been a disastrous month for the Mavericks, but Kyrie Irving is finding a way to stay positive through it all.
