The situation surrounding the Dallas Mavericks and Nerlens Noel is obviously not good. Noel hasn’t been able to crack the Mavs’ rotation this season, and hasn’t even featured at all in five of the team’s last six games. Reports coming out of the team have pointed toward Noel’s work ethic as the reason he’s been in head coach Rick Carlisle's doghouse.

With no playing time in sight and with nothing else better to do, Noel decided to head on over to the Mavs’ media dining room to grab a hot dog during halftime of an actual game against the L.A. Clippers.

Upon being asked about one of his players loitering around the arena in the middle of a game and snatching up hot dogs, Carlisle instead commented on the quality of hotdogs the Mavs have on offer.

Noel’s latest antics clearly aren’t going to get him any closer to exiting Carlisle’s doghouse. But at this point, it’s fair to wonder whether he actually cares anymore. Roaming the arena during halftime to get a snack isn’t what someone desperate to get back in his coach’s good graces would do.

Based on all that's happening at the moment, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mavs finally decide to let Noel loose.
