The Miami Heat got walloped by the Boston Celtics on Monday night, but star Jimmy Butler didn't play in that game. The Heat are right back in action Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors, so fans are wondering: Is Jimmy Butler playing vs. the Raptors?
Is Heat star Jimmy Butler playing vs. Raptors
Butler didn't play against the Celtics because of an ankle injury that has been bothering him for much of the season. The Heat star has only played in 32 games so far in 2021-22, though he ha been terrific when he has suited up.
That includes his last game against the Raptors just a few days ago, a triple-overtime thriller that Toronto wound up winning by four. Butler did his best to get Miami a win, though, going for 37 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and two blocks in 52 grueling minutes of action.

It's no surprise Butler got the day off against the Celtics, but now he's good to go for the second night of a back-to-back against Toronto. The Heat star will try to replicate that last performance, though he's hoping to get a win this time around. Miami is still without Kyle Lowry due to personal reasons, so Butler will have to step up against Lowry's former team.
Despite a litany of injuries and COVID-19 woes, Miami is still near the very top of the Eastern Conference. The Heat are just percentage points behind the Chicago Bulls for the top spot in the East. If they're healthy going into the playoffs, this Miami squad is going to be a tough out.
Butler's terrific two-way play is a big reason for that. He's averaging 22.0 points, 6.3 assists, 6.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals while shooting 48.6% from the field.
