The Miami Heat are off to their best start in recent years after improving to 6-1 in their defeat of the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.

The Heat, who are as hot as Don Johnson in the 1980s, haven't started the season 6-1 since they won the NBA title in the 2012-13 season. The Mavericks simply had no answers for the Heat's scoring barrage, with four players finishing with at least 20 points for the first time in team history.

But, arguably, the most interesting part in the Heat's rousing start is their cohesion. Despite having a bunch of All-Stars and young talent climbing up the ranks, there's no drama involved. This is perhaps the reason why Mavericks coach Jason Kidd made a bold claim after losing in South Beach (via ESPN).

“The Heat, I would consider them the best team in the league right now.”

While the Bulls are definitely more fun to watch, the Heat are more, um, educational.

Oh, did we mention that they are the best defensive team too? Allowing just 97 points per game ahead of their showdown with the Mavericks.

So, to borrow a line from a famous song: The Heat is on.
