The Miami Heat destroyed the New York Knicks 110-87 to improve their record to 2-2 to start the new campaign. However, this was not the only record that was set on the evening, as the Heat actually matched a number of impressive feats in Wednesday's mauling of the hapless Knicks.
Miami Heat score 45 points in a quarter for just the 5th time in franchise history. The +25 point differential recorded in the 3rd quarter vs. Knicks is also the their highest single quarter point differential since 2012.#HEATCulture #NBA #NBATwitter #Heat

You read that one right. The Heat scored an amazing 45 points in the third quarter versus the Knicks' 20-point output in the same quarter.
Article Continues BelowWhat makes this feat even more impressive is the fact that the Knicks actually started the game strong, ending the first quarter with a 27-16 lead. However, the away team got outscored by the Heat by 13 in the second, and then by an astounding 25 points in the third.
All five Heat starters scored double digits on the evening, with big man Hassan Whiteside leading the way. The 29-year-old scored a season-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, with 14 rebounds (matching his season average of 14.3 RPG, which is good for fourth-best in the league), three blocks, and just one turnover in 27 minutes of action.
For the Knicks, it was another forgettable evening, as the team has now lost four straight following their opening-night victory against the Atlanta Hawks. Contrary to Miami, Tim Hardaway Jr. (14) was the only starter to score in double figures as the team struggled to find their offense throughout the one-sided contest.
The Heat appear to have built some momentum with the victory. They will have two nights off before hosting the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.
