Despite being shortened, the 2019-2020 NBA season revealed a lot about Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. Even his head coach in Erik Spoelstra admits that he doesn't know the entirety of Butler's character which ultimately makes him unique and one of the most interesting players in the league.

“That’s the part of Jimmy nobody knows,” Spoelstra says. “That guy in the Dos Equis commercial? Jimmy’s like a version of that guy. He’s literally one of the most interesting people in the NBA fraternity. If you talk about anything, he’s like, I’ve done that,” he said via Sports Illustrated.

Many questions lingered around Butler's fit in his new team when he decided to hop over from Philadelphia to South Beach during the 2019 offseason. Apart from the uncertainty of his chemistry with the rest of the Heat, he was still surrounded by the never-ending talks of him being a bad teammate who was a problem in the locker room.

The former Marquette product went on to silence the talking heads as he led the Heat to a 44-29 record to nab the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference entering the 2020 NBA Playoffs. In the Orlando Bubble, the Heat eventually toppled conference favorites in the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics to make it back to the NBA Finals for the first time since the LeBron James era.

He was at the forefront of his team's attack all while juggling the load of selling coffee drinks in the bubble. Despite losing to the dominant Los Angeles Lakers in a 4-2 series outcome, the five-time All-Star was able to prove that he is still one of the top players in the league and can lead an underdog team all the way to the championship stage.

Their 2019-2020 campaign was indeed a revelation and fans can expect to see more of Jimmy Butler and the Heat make noise once again in the upcoming season.
