Charles Barkley may not be known for dishing dimes during his playing days, but on Saturday night, he probably made one of his biggest assists.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon received a pledge of donation from Barkley for his initiative to bring clean water to East Africa.
In an appearance on the Inside The NBA set following the Bucks' Game 2 win over the Raptors, Brogdon explained about his Hoops2o initiative. The 26-year-old point guard then mentioned that they are currently building clean water wells in East Africa and Tanzania.
“Every summer I go over there, I raise money through the season. I have four guys in the NBA that are helping me raise money on different teams, and I'm just trying to raise as much money as I can to build more wells,” Brogdon said on Friday.

Upon hearing the story, Barkley quickly said that he will donate $45,000 — which is the cost of building a well.

It was undoubtedly a class act from Charles Barkley, and Malcolm Brogdon's mixed expression of surprise and delight when he heard that the NBA legend is donating for his cause says it all.
Hopefully, Sir Charles' action would spur current and former NBA players to join the initiative.
