Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been working diligently this offseason to improve his 3-point shot, and The Greek Freak says he's going to shoot more shots from beyond the arc this season.

Last season, Antetokounmpo led the NBA in points in the paint per game, scoring 15.7. His long strides and freakish athleticism allow him to get to the basket at will and finish in heavy traffic whenever he wants.

The issue, however, is that when opposing teams pack the paint and force Antetokounmpo to score from the perimeter, the Bucks' offense usually stalls. Outside of point guard Eric Bledsoe and small forward Khris Middleton, Milwaukee doesn't have another player who can create his own shot off the dribble that well, so if Antetokounmpo isn't collapsing the paint, points are hard to come by for the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo attempted 140 3s in 2017-18 and made 43, good for 28.4 percent. The 23-year-old vows to be a better shooter this season and is motivated to show people he can be a reliable threat from downtown.

“I've been working on it,” Antetokounmpo said, via the Bucks' official Twitter page. “I feel as a player, I always want to prove guys that think I can't knock down that shot, that I've been working on it. I know I can hit it. Be excited about this season. I'm going to hit those in the game.”

Antetokounmpo is coming off a banner year. The Bucks' franchise cornerstone averaged 26.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game last season while shooting 52.9 percent from the field. Now that LeBron James is in the Western Conference, Antetokounmpo is regarded by many as the best player in the East.

If Antetokounmpo can shoot around 35 percent from 3 this season, the league is in big trouble. Under new coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks are projected to have a more fluid offense, one which will emphasize ball movement and off-ball screens.

The Bucks were the eighth seed in the East last season and lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2018 playoffs in seven games. Expect the team to be better this time around, with Antetokounmpo leading the way.
