The Milwaukee Bucks racked up 70 points in Sunday's first half against the Detroit Pistons, and that total now represents the second-most points in the first half of a playoff game in franchise history:

The top-seeded Bucks crushed the outmanned Detroit Pistons right from the opening tip. Milwaukee poured in 38 points in the first quarter to take a 38-18 lead, and the lead was up to 70-43 by halftime.

The Bucks did this despite just an okay shooting performance on 3-pointers in the first half. Milwaukee made eight of its 23 attempts, but that was mitigated by a ridiculous 16-of-22 from the field on 2-pointers. The Bucks also made 14 free throws in the opening half, and they even left points on the table by missing seven freebies.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez notched 14 points apiece in the half, while George Hill added 13 points off the bench. Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton all chipped in eight points in a well-rounded scoring effort. Milwaukee had 18 assists in the half.

The Bucks slowed down just a little in the second half, but at that point the game was already well in hand. Milwaukee ultimately came away with a 121-86 victory to go up 1-0.

The rest of this first-round series may not go much differently, especially with Blake Griffin potentially sidelined for all of it. The Bucks are just too good, while the eighth-seeded Pistons will either have their best player out or severely limited.
