Last week the NBA Board of Governors officially decided to patch advertisements to NBA jerseys in a small corner on the shoulder area.
Commissioner Adam Silver told ESPN the reason they decided to give this a go:
“The media landscape is changing, People are watching less live television outside of sports. People are watching fewer commercials. This will become an important opportunity for companies for connecting directly with their consumers.”
With that line of thinking, the ads are coming. An Artist by the name of Robb Harskamp put together mock-ups of full ad jersey illustrations, if NBA teams went further than just a patch to advertise on the jersey.

According to Harskamp's description:
“Each of the partnerships we illustrated involves companies ranked in the Forbes 2000 list, meaning they are big enough to afford the advertising. And each has its corporate headquarters in the same metro area or state as the team.”
