On Sunday night the Los Angeles Lakers would blow a 23-point lead and lose on the road to the New Orleans Pelicans. At the end of the game, a New Orleans' home television announcer would take the opportunity to troll the former Pelicans big man.

If you're unfamiliar with the “that's all folks” reference, it stems from a shirt that Anthony Davis wore to the last Pelicans home game of his tenure in New Orleans. Later that year, Davis would be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in unceremonious fashion.

The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled thus far in the 2021-2022 season, sitting at 31-43 and set to finish with a sub-.500 record and out of the Western Conference playoff race. Oddly enough, just behind the Pelicans who sit at 32-43. Davis was in street clothes tonight as he's been out with a foot sprain suffered in a February 16 matchup against the Utah Jazz. Since he's been sidelined, the Lakers have managed to only secure a 4-11 record and have given fans serious doubt of qualifying for the play-in tournament.

LeBron James also gave Lakers fans a scare during the game, when he tweaked his ankle after an ugly roll.

Needless to say, the trolling from the Pelicans home announcer just helps paint the unfortunate picture of much of what the Lakers season has been to this point. An injury-riddled, controversial mess that seems to see a new low every week. Blowing a 23-point lead and having the announcer for the opposing team troll your star player is just par for the course.
