Jaylen Brown was just about the only player keeping the Boston Celtics afloat before he went down with a hamstring injury. Although the team has been doing well without him, his fiery scoring abilities make them a more dangerous team.

Luckily, it sounds like he could be back soon. Brown told Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston that Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers is the target date for his return to action.

Head coach Ime Udoka said just a few days ago that the timetable for Brown's return would be weeks. While Brown may not actually play on Monday, the fact that it's a possibility is very promising.

Brown's 25.6 point-per-game average lead Boston, as does his 2.9 made triples per game, entering the Celtics' Saturday game against the Cavs. The 2021 All-Star is also averaging 6.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He has continued to impress with his big-time performances, namely a franchise record on the Celtics' season opener.

The Celtics own a record of 6-6 entering Saturday. Their offensive rating is currently only 19th in the NBA. Adding Brown back into the mix should help them improve and allow Jayson Tatum to rediscover his normal scoring efficiency, as the All-Star hasn't been his usual dominant self so far this season.
