Rajon Rondo recently took part in a wide-ranging interview with Jemele Hill on her “Jemele Hill is Unbothered” (via Yahoo Sports) podcast, the Los Angeles Lakers point guard discussed a variety of topics, including the 2010 NBA Finals that saw his Boston Celtics lose in seven games. According to Rondo, that loss was a big one for him, especially due to the fact that he believes he would have been Finals MVP had the team won.

Rondo called Game 7 of the 2010 Finals “the most frustrating loss I’ve ever had,” and lamented the fact that the team was unable to win, adding “S—, I would’ve been Finals MVP if we’d won it.”

Outside of the 2010 NBA Finals, Rondo also touched on some of his more accomplished moments. Namely, he brought up the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals, when the Celtics took on the LeBron James led Miami Heat. According to Rondo, he believes the referees cheated the Celtics out of a victory in Game 2 of that series, which saw Rondo post a 44 point, 10 assists, and eight-rebound game.

Needless to say, Rondo has had some strong opinions on a variety of topics in the NBA. Now, however, he’s looking to help the Lakers make it back to the playoffs, and aims to be a solid piece alongside the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Not only can he still affect play on the basketball court, but his place as a veteran presence for the Lakers team should go a long way in keeping the team stable as it plays throughout the season.
